Fate
To some, it is little more than an idea. To others, it represents a whole way of life.
For the people of Asgard, an isolated colony on the edge of human space, fate has taken a very different shape. A legion of strange clockwork beings has descended on the planet, annihilating everything in their path without mercy or hesitation. All attempts at diplomacy have failed. Outposts are dropping out of contact across the surface. The only thing known about the attackers is their name.
They call themselves the Fatem.
The Interplanetary Armed Forces, charged with defending human expansion, are already moving to reinforce the battered colony. But Asgard's remote location may prove to be its downfall. Even the nearest I.A.F. battlegroups are weeks away. Now, the colony's only hope rests in the hands of two pilots, brought together for very different reasons and thrust behind the controls of the most advanced ships ever crafted by mankind. At the heart of these vessels is the Chronoscience Drive: a prototype machine that allows the pilot to gaze into the future so that they can react in the present. Staring down an immense alien armada and backed only by a handful of allies, their minds are still full of questions. Who are the Fatem? What do they want?
And can they be stopped?
